A renovation project of some infrastructure had gone quite wrong. Many stakeholders were involved, all were blaming the builders, it looked like nobody from the agency or their other contractors was going to learn anything from this experience.
Antonie Reichling took the whole group exclusive of the builders through two sessions of step by step evaluation. Everybody got ample room to voice their thoughts, as long as they also looked at their own role and all of its aspects.
From blaming the builders the group started to accept that they themselves had created the circumstances for the builder to badly perform. Also, from blaming their project management methodology, they came to realize that the way they behaved within the methodology was a much more important factor.
